A reproduction of the "toy" used in a charming period game. In the late 12th and early 13th centuries, the young noblemen of Germany and northern Italy, unsatisfied by the amusements offered by civil uprisings, plague, and the potential of dying in messy ways far from home offered by the Crusades, decided on a new way to show their manhood. (besides codpieces)
These noble flowers of chivalry would welcome spring by standing alone at the entrance to a bear's den and throw rocks at it. (just when the bear's at its most hungry, and therefore grumpy.)
When the animal charged out of its den with murder (and perhaps a free lunch) on its mind the young noble of gentle birth would have to kill it with the one and only blow he'd get (aiming between the eyes) before he was justifiably dismembered.
This is the sort of Darwinismin in action that proves the nobility were breeding for iron nerves, quick reflexes and a very strong weapon arm. They were certainly not breeding for brains!!!
And now this too can be all yours!!
